Akatagnostos describes sound speech presented so that opponents have no evil charge to make.

Its sole attested use describes sound speech set before a hostile observer so that no evil accusation can be made against those addressed.

   In Titus 2:8, the accusative singular masculine form qualifies “sound word” within the call for speech that gives a hostile party nothing evil to say. The APB renders the clause “Sound word, beyond reproach,” followed by the opponent’s shame.
