Its sole attested use presents doing good as the manner accompanying the commitment of suffering persons to a faithful Creator in 1 Peter 4:19.

   In 1 Peter 4:19, the dative singular feminine form occurs in the clause about those who suffer according to God's will and commit their souls to a faithful Creator; the APB renders the clause "in doing good."
