The Bible says that temptation and testing include endurance under pressure, self-examination, and careful conduct toward others. The word or idea recurs in at least 4 verses across 3 books. 1 Corinthians 10:13 says that no temptation exceeds what is common to humanity and that God provides a way of escape so a person may endure. 2 Corinthians 13:5 calls readers to examine and test themselves regarding faith.
