Toi is the king of Hamath named in 2 Samuel in connection with Hadadezer’s defeat.
Toi in the Bible is the king of Hamath who heard that David had defeated Hadadezer’s army (2 Samuel 8:9). He is named in at least two verses, both in 2 Samuel. The passage says that Toi had been at war with Hadadezer. After David’s victory, Toi sent his son Joram to King David with a greeting of peace and blessing; Joram brought articles of silver, gold, and bronze (2 Samuel 8:10).
