Shaphat is named as the father of Elisha in 1 Kings and 2 Kings.
Shaphat in the Bible is the father of Elisha, identified when Elisha is named as being from Abel-meholah and appointed as prophet in Elijah’s place (1 Kings 19:16). A later passage again calls him “Elisha son of Shaphat” while describing Elisha as present and as one who poured water on Elijah’s hands (2 Kings 3:11).
