Rechab

Rechab is the father named in Jeremiah as the father of Jonadab, whose command concerning wine is recalled there (Jeremiah 35:6). Rechab is named in at least 5 verses, all in Jeremiah. The passage says that Jonadab commanded his sons not to drink wine, and they state that they had obeyed this command throughout their days (Jeremiah 35:8). Jeremiah later says that Jonadab’s sons had kept their father’s command (Jeremiah 35:14; Jeremiah 35:16).
