Rab-saris

Rab-saris is an Assyrian official whom the king of Assyria sent from Lachish to King Hezekiah with Tartan, Rabshakeh, and a heavy force. They came to Jerusalem and stood by the conduit of the high pool on the Washer’s Field highway (2 Kings 18:17).

The designation also occurs in Jeremiah’s list of Babylonian rulers at the middle gate, where Samgar-nebu-sar-sekim is called Rab-saris (Jeremiah 39:3). Nebushazban the Rab-saris is likewise named among the king of Babylon’s chief officers who sent (Jeremiah 39:13). Rab-saris is named in at least 3 verses across 2 books.
