A wife of Elkanah named in 1 Samuel and described as having children.
Peninnah is one of Elkanah’s wives in 1 Samuel, and the passage says that she had children 1 Samuel 1:2.
She is first named alongside Hannah, with the text distinguishing Peninnah as having children while Hannah had none 1 Samuel 1:2. On a day when Elkanah sacrificed, he gave portions to Peninnah, described there as his wife, and to all her sons and daughters 1 Samuel 1:4. Peninnah is named in at least two verses, both in 1 Samuel.
