Oded is named in 2 Chronicles in connection with Azariah and with a prophecy heard by Asa.
Oded is the figure called “Oded the prophet” in 2 Chronicles, first named at 2 Chronicles 15:1. That verse calls Azariah “son of Oded” and says that the spirit of God was upon Azariah. Later, Asa hears “the prophecy of Oded the prophet”; the passage says Asa strengthened himself, removed abominations from Judah, Benjamin, and captured Ephraimite cities, and renewed the altar of the LORD (2 Chronicles 15:8). Oded’s name occurs in at least 2 verses in 2 Chronicles.
