Manoah is the Judges person first named at Judges 13:2 and identified as Samson’s father in Judges 16:31. He is described as a man from Zorah, of the Danite clan. Manoah prayed that the man of God would return and instruct them concerning the child to be born (Judges 13:8). He later offered a goat and an offering to the LORD on a rock; he and his wife saw the angel of the LORD ascend in the altar’s flame (Judges 13:19, Judges 13:20).
