Kenaz

Kenaz is the biblical person identified as Othniel’s father in the accounts at Joshua 15:17 and Judges 1:13. His name occurs in at least 2 verses across 2 books: Joshua and Judges.

In both passages, Othniel is called “son of Kenaz.” The verses report that Othniel captured it, after which Caleb gave Achsah to him as a wife. The two texts present Kenaz through this identification of Othniel.
