Kareah is named as the father of Johanan and Jonathan in accounts set at Mizpah.
Kareah in the Bible is the father named in the identification of Johanan son of Kareah and Jonathan son of Kareah. He is first named when Johanan comes with other officers and their men to Gedaliah at Mizpah (2 Kings 25:23). Jeremiah likewise names Johanan and Jonathan as sons of Kareah among those who came to Gedaliah at Mizpeh (Jeremiah 40:8). Kareah is named in at least 14 verses across 2 Kings and Jeremiah, chiefly through these identifications of his sons.
