Jeshua son of Nun is the figure whose days are used in Nehemiah to mark an earlier point in Israel’s dwelling in booths. Nehemiah 8:17 says that the assembly returning from captivity made and lived in booths, adding that the sons of Israel had not done so from the days of Jeshua son of Nun until that day. The passage reports very great joy. This identity is named in at least one verse, in Nehemiah alone.
