A James identified as Mary’s son in Matthew, Mark, and Luke.
James, Son of Mary, is the biblical person identified through his mother Mary in three references. Matthew names Mary as the mother of James and Joseph among those listed (Matthew 27:56). Mark calls him “James the younger” and again identifies Mary as the mother of James and Joseph (Mark 15:40). Luke names Mary the mother of James among women who were telling the apostles these things (Luke 24:10). His name occurs in at least three verses across Matthew, Mark, and Luke.
