Iddo is identified as the parent of Zechariah son of Iddo in Ezra.
Iddo, father of Zechariah, is identified in Ezra by the designation “Zechariah son of Iddo” (Ezra 5:1). In that passage, Zechariah and Haggai prophesy concerning Judahites in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel. Later, the elders build and prosper through the prophecy of Haggai and Zechariah son of Iddo, completing the work by decrees named in the passage (Ezra 6:14).
