Hymenaeus in the Bible is a person named in 1 Timothy and 2 Timothy, first named alongside Alexander in a passage that says he was handed over to Satan so that he might be taught not to blaspheme 1 Timothy 1:20. He is named in at least two verses across two books. Another passage names Hymenaeus with Philetus and says that their word “will spread like gangrene” 2 Timothy 2:17.
