Jeremiah 36:12 lists Elishama among the officials as the secretary.
Elishama is the Jeremiah figure first named among officials as “Elishama the secretary” (Jeremiah 36:12). A scroll is deposited in his chamber (Jeremiah 36:20). Jehudi takes it from that chamber and reads it before the king and the officials (Jeremiah 36:21).
Jeremiah 41:1 names Ishmael as the son of Nethaniah, son of Elishama; Nethaniah is identified as Elishama’s son (Jeremiah 41:1). Elishama is named in at least four verses, all in Jeremiah.
