Aner in the Bible is a Genesis person named as the brother of Eshcol and as one of the men in covenant with Abram. Genesis 14:13 places Abram among the oaks of Mamre and names Mamre, Eshcol, and Aner in connection with that covenant. Aner is named again with Eshcol and Mamre when the passage speaks of the portion belonging to the men who went with the speaker: “they will take their portion” (Genesis 14:24).
