I've been blessed with the ability to offer a portion of the Anselm Project's operating costs as a gesture of goodwill — specifically, to help make reports accessible to people who might not have credits to spend. Starting now, a portion of reports generated each day will be free, covered by a sponsor's contribution.
The sponsor is anonymous, but I do want to thank them.
What This Actually Means
When a report is generated using the gift pool, it will display a single line at the bottom: "This report was provided as a community gift." That's it. It won't show if you print the report. There's no other badge, no promotional language, no call to action. Just an honest note that someone else paid for that one.
Every standard report type qualifies — Devotional, Teaching, Scholarly, Topical, Apologetics, Character studies, and the Synod. The gift pool doesn't distinguish between them. But, it doesn't work towards audio generation, critical reading, etc.. This is to make sure that one user doesn't easily monopolize the entire pool. Please use this gift ethically.
Different report types consume very different amounts of compute, so there's no clean way to tell you how many are left in a given day. When the pool is exhausted, it's exhausted for the rest of the day, and it'll refresh daily.
Why I'm Telling You This
I want to be straightforward about how the platform operates. If your report was covered by someone else's generosity, you should know that. It doesn't change the report — the same pipeline ran, the same scholarly analysis was generated, the same sources were consulted. The input into the Anselm engine and report pipeline is not altered in anyway; that's a line I will not cross. But it seems right to be transparent about it rather than just silently apply a credit and say nothing.
The Share Gallery has examples of what these reports look like if you haven't used the platform before. The gift pool is a reason to try one if you've been on the fence.
On Generosity in General
I appreciate the ability to help hand out the reports from Anselm. I'm grateful for it, and I hope it's useful to people who use the platform.
God bless, everyone.
