The Anselm Project Bible now reads aloud. Every chapter, every verse — in English, or in the original Hebrew and Greek. It's free.
How It Works
The audio reader lives at its own player at anselm-project.com/bible/audio. Select a book and chapter, choose your language, and hit play. The reader handles both the English translation and the source languages — Hebrew for the Old Testament, Greek for the New Testament.
The original language audio is the part I'm most pleased with, but admittedly, I'm not an expert. I can do Greek and Hebrew well enough for translation and probably sound like a pre-schooler when I speak.
Hearing Hebrew or Greek read aloud is a different experience than reading it on the page, and for anyone with some background in the languages, listening while following the text is a legitimate study mode. For those without that background, it's still worth hearing — the cadence of biblical Hebrew and the rhythm of Koine Greek carry things that translation inevitably flattens.
Why Free
The audio reader is available to every user on every tier, including anyone without an account. The Anselm Project Bible is the foundation the whole platform is built on, and I want it as accessible as possible.
Pull up a passage at anselm-project.com/bible/audio and try it.
God bless, everyone.
