Prayer, Healing, and Restoring the Erring

James 5:13-20

5
Chapter 5
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, having anointed him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. Even if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. 16 Therefore confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person avails much when it is effective. 17 Elijah was a man subject to the same passions as us, and he prayed in prayer for it not to rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth sprouted its fruit. 19 My brothers, if anyone among you strays from the truth and someone turns him back, 20 Let him know that the one who turns a sinner back from the error of his way will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
